New Rotwild FS FRAME!
Blogger Post May 12th, 2009I was lucky and received last year’s Rotwild frame early and we got some 09 frames! I have not yet received the new Shimano XTR groupos… things with sponsors over in Europe are a little delayed. I have the carbon hardtail coming too… can’t wait! Oh man…that will be so KLLER! I imagine I’ll get that frame with the new groups. I think that stuff should be coming in the next month (I hope!)
Anyway, Mr. Kerkove has wicked skills and took the group off my 08 Rotwild frame and transferred it over. The new bike also has:
* Magura Durin Race fork
* rear DT Swiss Carbon shock
* custom colored Magura Marta SL brakes (they RULE!)
* my awesome new DT Swiss wheels
* Ergon GX2 Carbon grips!!!!!!
Here are pics of my hot little number:
These will be my tire choice for my upcoming race – the Gunnison Growler. It is next weekend and will be my longest race (as far as consecutive hours on a bike). I have done team 12 and 24 hour races, and before that, my longest is almost 6 hours. The winning women’s time last year was 6 hr 46 min. Yikes! My teammates, Namrita and Eddie O’dea are coming. I can’t wait to see them and to drink frosty beverages (i.e. hoppy Colorado microbrews!)
The last couple days have been easy riding, eating, and recovering. Must…replenish… glycogen stores!

Thats some hot sexy bike porn…also curious as to the difference between the frames? was the old one aluminum and this one carbon?

Only a few differences in the frames…..
1. The paint…or lack there of.
2. The carbon lay up is different. This bike appears molded where as last years bike was weave of carbon.
3. When held in hand, there is a weight savings from last years bike.

the difference between “molded” carbon and “weaved” carbon is what?
pretty sure all carbon, whether monocoque or otherwise, a “weave”.

Hi guys,
I will be doing a post on the differences between the two frames, and on molded vs. weaved carbon.
Hang tight!! Expect it in a few days!

“when held in hand there is a weight savings”.
this must mean, “it feels lighter, but on a scale it is not”.
