Ahoy and away we go!
Blogger Post March 21st, 2009I have been in South Beach Miami for the last day and a half. It’s been awesome, and it’s fun to stay somewhere a couple days before a cruise b/c you get into “vacation mode.” Then you realize you have a week long cruise in front of you and it’s a super bonus!
I have been to South Beach before, but it was 4 years ago, for another family cruise. All I can say is WOW. You boys would like it here. Downtown, all the chicks dress like hookers in super high heel shoes, and skin tight dresses that barely cover your bum, and low cut tops to display fake boobies. I saw a girl wearing a shirt that said, “Plastic and proud of it.” Quite a culture shock from Boulder, CO.
But fun. At least I know mine are real. hehe. In fact, all the mannequins are like DDs. Check this out!
That is the hand of a family member. I choose not to say who… just not me b/c I took the pic.

The luxurious pool area at our hotel. Who wants to hang out by the pool when the beach is right there?
We didn’t get a lot of beach time yesterday b/c of the impending doom (clouds)
It’s been so fun to hang out with the clan. There are ten of us here… there’d be like 16 had the rest of the clan showed up.
I went for a run on the beach this morning and got to feel the soft, warm, humid air caress my skin. It’s a change from the biting CO winter air. I ran in the sand vs the boardwalk to keep myself from turning on the turbo. I inadvertently do that at sea level, and I pay for it the next day. I love to run.

Beach hunnies! ha! My cousin used tan in a bottle… maybe I should have done that too?
I’m going to be disconnected for the next week, so check back next weekend for some fun new posts. Where am I going?
1) Georgetown, Grand Cayman
2) Montego Bay, Jamaica
3) Some guarded island around Haiti (?)
4) Cozumel and/or Cancun Mexico
I plan on losing my cyclist tan lines and getting some quality beach time in. My belly is blindly white. I have seen one other cyclist since I have been here… I could tell b/c our tanlines matched. ha.
I hope everyone has a great week. Ride extra for me…! When I get back, it’s race time!

Looks like you are having a great time out there! Use high SPF where you already have the bike tan lines, then really low SPF where you need to even it out…if you even care.

So this is how you taper before a race??? Nice!
