A very promising 2009
Blogger Post October 20th, 2008I have had some questions about what team I’ll be riding for next year. Sobe Cannondale was the team I wanted to be on ever since I started bike racing. After 3 years of applying, I finally got a spot on the team and never thought I would be leaving so soon. They have been nothing but amazing to me and I’m sad to be leaving the team and all the great people. I don’t look at this as leaving anything behind, but as a large step in the yellow brick road of my bike racing journey to carry me higher. When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, and when Topeak Ergon invites you to join their international team, you jump up and down and say HELL YEAH! I couldn’t be more flattered that they have asked me to join the family and am really excited for the ‘09 race season! I can’t tell you how excited I am.
They are also adding 2 other U.S. riders that are still TBD. Hopefully you guys will still love me in green, black, and white raging on a Rotwild!! There are some other changes that are being made for 2009 for my racing career, so stay tuned!!!

And here’s for your french lesson of the day:
Quoi? Nouvelle choquante! Mais toi et Jeff .tant un couple… c’est louche tout ça.
Sérieusement, félicitations et du succès pour 2009!
October 20th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Yes! Belgie, belgie, belgie. One hopes.
Monsieur Gerous!

October 20th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
oooo. tres bien

October 20th, 2008 at 4:24 pm

Hey, that’s awesome!!! Congrats!!!! I haven’t gotten my Lumi yet, but we should switch watchbands when it comes. I ordered it in the olive green, which would go well with your new kit

Hey-O!!!!!!!!!!!!!
October 20th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
Great news… the unification of the Looney-Kerkove blog is now complete.
Seriously though, congrats.

How could they pass on your riding prowess…and the marketing opportunity created with you and Mr. Kerkove being together…they can’t…it’s a slam dunk all the way around!!
Good for you!!
So the question begs…will you sport your own FJ for 2009 and leave your car worries behind?
October 21st, 2008 at 9:42 am
haha. I wish.
I will probably be trying to scrape some funds to buy myself a different car in the next year. Now the starter is fixed, the check engine light keeps coming on. Seriously!!!! My team car will be my bike for now.
Thanks Don! Hadn’t heard from you in awhile!!

You know, now that I think about it, I have the perfect MB riders vehicle (1996 Toyota 4Runner) I’m trying to unload if you “happen” to be interested. We could work out delivery of the vehicle…and I could bring my bike along for the trek to try out some of those great trails you guys have out west.
If the mountain biking is half as good as the skiing out there, it will be worth the drive.
